Flooz, $SYA and the future of work

My master plan to empower and fund the emerging creative class

Sup fam?! Lamine here - Founder & CEO of Flooz and $SYA.

I have received many questions about wtf I'm actually creating over here, so in my first blog post, I will write out what’s been going on in my head and walk you through my master plan. I invite you to grab some popcorn, sit down with me and enjoy this read!. By the end of it, I hope you understand everything that I’ve been up to, if anything is left unclear, feel free to reach out.

I have a strong conviction and believe that globalization in combination with the rise of social media and automation will dramatically change the future of work in the next decade to come. I believe that most 9-to-5s will become a commodity: undifferentiated, easily replicable, and lastly, ready to be fully automated.

9-to-5's flatten and dull the individuality of a human. At Flooz, we celebrate your individuality, uniqueness, and authenticity. We believe that the future of work is driven by you being simply and unapologetically you.

What is Flooz?

We're building next-level Pro tools that empower you to focus on telling your stories and connecting with your fanbase, rather than managing your biz and tech infrastructure. The Flooz Pro tools are designed to give you the ability to pursue occupational-, physical-, and financial freedom. These three freedoms are our core guiding principles.

It's our mission to build the Pro tools to empower you to make a living doing what you love, thriving in the passion economy from even the most remote corner of our world.

Social media has been a great way to connect with humans. However, managing our ever-growing social channels has become a full-time job. There is this feeling of obligation to constantly share our work there, in addition to our personal lives.

At Flooz, we empower you to create your own corner on the interwebs in a matter of minutes. It's a place you can make purely yours, the portal to your digital world. It’s a place to freely be expressive on your own terms, who you are, what you offer, and how you connect with your community. From hosting live Zoom sessions, selling any digital file as a download, or offering to answer questions/converse with fans. Creators can offer these services free of charge or set a fee (“fixed price” or “pay what you can”).

Additionally, Flooz provides you with the web-, subscribers-, payments- insights & analytics you need to to understand and grow your solo biz. We're working on many new features/ frameworks that will enable you to connect to your audiences in new and innovative ways - comment below if you want me to dig deeper into Flooz.

Flooz is the utility, $SYA is the currency

We envision a future where people from all over the world have access to the same opportunities and can join the ‘Passion Economy’ opening a door to financial opportunities that never existed before.

Globally, 30% of the adult population is without banking services (source) - that’s 1.7b humans that are without financial services and not able to participate in the global economy.

There are two parts to our solution: Flooz (utility) and $SYA (currency).

Flooz has already enabled many world-leading creators around the world to get paid to do what they love. Take DLC Anxiety as an example - the Worlds Largest Anxiety Support Community. The community uses the “ask me anything” feature on DLC Flooz Profile to receive answers on any anxiety symptoms, techniques or recovery questions.

We are proud to say that our payment infrastructure has been integrated with PayPal and Stripe. However, there are still some geographical regions, especially Africa, Latin America, Middle East and South-East Asia that remain untapped and thus millions of humans are excluded from offering services similar to DLC Anxiety in the passion economy.

Here is where $SYA comes into the picture. We’ve decided to create our own cryptocurrency, “$SYA (Save Your Assets)” to enable every human, including the 30% unbanked, to join the passion economy. It is becoming the underlying currency fueling the Passion Economy.

By seamlessly integrating $SYA into our Flooz ecosystem, we are creating an entirely new value exchange between creators and their communities.

We don’t want to just be a player in this new economy, we are determined to build the backbone of this economy.

As a creator, you will be able to simply connect your $SYA wallet to Flooz, easily accept payments for the services (see above) you offer in $SYA. As a fan, you will be able to purchase and support your favorite creators using your $SYA.

This is just our starting point. We're ultimately heading towards a future, where creators can launch their own digital currencies and build their own economy.

We call it the "Human Stock Market".

An economy that allows fans to invest in the creators they believe in. Hear me out.
Imagine you’re scrolling through TikTok and you’ve just discovered someone with the most angelic voice. You think “WOW! They really could make it one day!” After heading to their profile you realize your new favorite creator doesn’t have access to the supplies they need to master their craft and be successful. You want to support them so you give them a “like” and maybe leave a really supportive comment, but unfortunately, that’s all you’re really limited to do… until now.

With Flooz x $SYA, a creator can launch their own digital currency and you’ll be able to buy that creator’s currency with $SYA. You’ll finally be able to truly support your favorite creatives as well as directly contributing to their success. It's basically replacing the "like" button with an "I'm supporting you" button.

Everything is on the blockchain, so fast forward months/years ahead and it will be clear to everyone when you started believing in that creator and you get rewarded as that person’s currency increases in value.

This is just a small glimpse of how powerful the combination between Flooz (utility) and $SYA (currency) can become.

Humanizing Crypto

However, before we get to that point, we have to do some housekeeping.

Frankly speaking, crypto in 2021 feels much like what banking was in 2010. It's slow, unnecessarily complicated, and requires some form of technical understanding. It is everything but modern, futuristic, and optimized for generation Gamestop.

Before $SYA becomes the main currency behind the passion economy, first we must urgently humanize crypto.

The team behind Flooz and $SYA has a strong product background. We're a small but brilliantly mighty team. We've been the brains, leading product designers, marketers, and developers behind your favorite banking products such as N26, Cookies, Klarna and WeLab. Now, we're building Flooz x $SYA. We have left the world of financial technology behind us (kinda) and are now aiming to become the engine behind the passion economy funding the emerging creative class.

We're obsessed with the happiness of our users and creating delightful, intuitive, and human-friendly user experiences. Keeping it 💯 with y'all, I've seen a lot in banking and have been/ still am at the forefront of FinTech/ banking digitalization and I can genuinely say that there is no real innovation in banking, there's only process innovation. All modern banks do pretty much the same stuff that incumbents did 10-15 years ago, just a bit leaner and meaner.

Crypto and decentralization being an entirely new take on banking are powerful, but the user experiences today just don't meet the demand and standards of our time. We want products to be useful, insightful, easy, fast, and fun to use. I am determined to strip away the entire complexity of crypto, layer by layer, and enable humans that have never been exposed to crypto, to not only feel comfortable with crypto but have the ability to get started easily, quickly, and feel confident doing so.

Chapter 1: Let’s fix the basics

We've launched $SYA on 12.05.2021 and alongside the launch on PanCakeSwap, we also launched our first product - the SYA Radar.

The $SYA Radar is our first product aiming to humanize crypto. Using the $SYA radar, users no longer have to visit BSCScan or our profiles on CoinGecko/ CoinMarketCap anymore as we present all relevant information up to date and at a glance.

You can connect any crypto wallet to the Radar.
You can see meaningful analytics in a playful way including the # of $SYA held, price per $SYA, $ value of $SYAs, market cap, # of token-holders.
You can also watch the state of your community boosts. Community boosts are rewards $SYA distributes to token-holders once the community has reached community goals, e.g. number of total token-holders.
You can also view all your activities. Activities are interactions between the connected wallet and the $SYA ecosystem. It shows a chronological list of all activities/ trades (e.g. buy, sell, instant boosts, community boosts, airdrops…).

Sounds great so far! But what's next?

In the coming weeks, we’re building more delightful experiences and crypto infrastructure including:

Save Your Pancake (SYP)

PanCakeSwap (PCS) has become a popular decentralized exchange to swap tokens, e.g. $BNB to $SYAs, but Oh loooord, are there many issues we need to address.

We have all been there. You want to buy a token and then PCS doesn't allow it. It has become my personal mission that none of us will ever see "slippage", "gas fees", or "wrong output amount" (...) again when using PCS.

Early preview of SYP, design is subject to change!

How? Well, we're building our own layer on top of PCS that will be super simple to use.

It will enable you to connect any crypto wallet, smart-search any token (no more copy and pasting any contract addresses), and even allow you to boost the transaction speed by simply moving a slider (no more gas fees bingo).
Now, here's the cool thing: For every trade happening on SYP, we will charge a tiny fee (will vote on it - we love community-led decision making).
This fee will be used to buy back $SYAs and thus boost the overall value of $SYAs
However, if you hold a certain amount of $SYAs (again community vote - go transparency) you won't be charged any fee
At first, SYP will only work with all Binance Smart Chain contracts, but ultimately we're building a layer on top of all popular decentralized exchanges
Once purchased, you will see the total worth of your crypto portfolio, the tokens you hold, and a human-readable list of activities (deposits, withdrawels, rewards…)

We feel confident that we can deliver the best possible user experience and expect the crypto-world to gradually make the switch from PCS to SYP to trade because it's fast, simple, and convenient.

$SYA Charts & real-time transactions

Ultimately, we want to own the entire user experience in crypto. Charts are a crucial part of it so we want to provide you with meaningful and easy to digest charts. From running a community with +11k members and reading countless Telegram and Discord messages, we feel that many users have difficulties in interpreting charts properly.

For some reason, the entire crypto market also decided to not show when you have bought a token on a graph. Showing a dot on a graph to indicate when you bought/ sold a token/coin is really no biggie and it offers so much value, putting your investment into perspective.

We're also working on a list of near real-time transactions that are easy to follow/comprehend. It is important to us that you understand when whales (someone who owns a large chunk of tokens) enter and leave projects.

$SYA Calculator

A lot of new investors get fooled by StockTokers and Youtubers claiming that a certain token will hit $x. They do not go on to explain and educate about the correlation between the price of a token and the actual market cap, thus resulting in people just throwing money at a coin/token when its market cap is high (a.k.a Andy ATH), then expecting to get a 100x. Little do they know that they're exposing themselves to a risky investment and might get rekt.

That's why we decided to build the $SYA calculator. You will be able to connect your wallet and play around with an interactive price slider to calculate how big your $SYA bags will be worth at any given price per token.

At first, it will be limited to $SYA, but in due time we’re providing this experience for all tokens. The true purpose of this calculator is to educate and give you a tool to manage expectations and improve the understanding of which scenarios are realistic vs. unrealistic.

$SYA Contract Wallets

From day 1, transparency has been one of our core values. We've built $SYA in front of the public and each step has been documented. This is why we’ve decided to transparently communicate the value of the SYA wallets so that it's clear how much the various wallets are worth, e.g. marketing-, charity-, dev (MultiSig) wallets, etc.

Chapter 2: Wallet & SDK

Not going into too much detail here, but this gives you a general idea:

We will be building an app, browser extension and SDK
You will be able to use all features described in Chapter 1 (swapping any token, stats, calculator...)
You will be able to instantly open a wallet and import your entire portfolio from any crypto wallet
You will be able to send crypto to friends, family, and pay businesses
You will be able to donate to charities directly
You will be able to convert fiat into crypto (Apple-, Google-, WeChat- & Ali-Pay to buy crypto)

Chapter 3: SYA integration to Flooz

Keeping this one short too, can’t give everything away:

We will integrate the SYA infrastructure and wallet into Flooz
As a Flooz creator, you will be able to get paid in $SYAs

Chapter 4: Everyone gets their own tokens

Keeping this one short too:

Every creator on Flooz will receive their own token
Tokens can be bought with SYAs

Hopefully, I was able to give you a better understanding of the plan and passion behind Flooz & $SYA. With everything we have planned, alongside ‘Save Your Pancake’ our timeline for all of this is ambitious as it’s all happening in 2021.

We have a talented and driven team and are relentlessly obsessed with delivering great experiences to our users. With our team in place, I feel confident that we can drive this home.
